Testimonial for the Mercury V6 Optimax System: Installed on my 2002 seadoo islandia. I was very skeptical at first...that is until I was in the water. All I can say is what a great product!!! How does anyone deal with not having this system on their jet boat?

Installed the ultimate and fangs on my 2015 yamaha ar230. Easy install. Noticed the difference backing the boat off the trailer, straight as can be. We have a long no wake zone, the boat was much easier to control and not pushed around, no over correcting. Small price to pay for such a huge impact.

Been meaning to chime in and tell you guys how awesome the Viper unit is. I now have 2 seasons with the 16 192 and wifey has only driven once for literally minutes. She just keep saying I can't keep this pos straight. Why did you buy this. :mad:It sucked big time hearing her say that as she is pretty good behind the wheel of a car. I wanted her to enjoy driving the boat. Fast forward 2 years and 3 outings in the last 2 weeks. I now can't keep her hands off the wheel.. It's best described by @veedubtek posts. You can literally hold it wide open and with no hands.(No boats around when we did this) In calm to a little choppy waters the boat stays straight as can be... Crazy Awesome! The boat just feels planted in the water! No more tail wagging out the back end! At slow speeds and at dock? One word (Awesome) The boat should come from Yamaha this way.. Last week at Kerr we had winds 15 to 20 mph. Had some really big waves for a NC Lake and the boat handled it like a champ. Needless to say The wifey and I give all of our thumbs up! Nice job Jeff @Cobra Jet Steering LLC !!!! Thanks for making such a beneficial and very good quality product.

I just installed two Cobra Jet Steering Viper setups on my SX230 and I must say, I am very pleased with the results. I have been a jetboater and jetskier since the mid 90's and I have had my current boat since 2007. I originally added an earlier version of Cobra fins back in 2008 because I could not stand the lack of tracking ability at low speeds on my boat. I ran that system until 2014 when I decided to switch to a set of Thrust Vextor XL's because I thought I was missing the old jetboat feel. I was happy at the time with my switch but after a few seasons I grew tired again of the limited straight tracking ability at anything above no wake mode and the squirly jetboat feel when crossing wakes. So, I decided to give the Venoms a shot. The first thing that I noticed while backing off of my trailer is that I still had the same level of control even though the Vipers do not extend as far down in the water. The second noticeable plus was that the boat seemed to plane more quickly and I was actually able to reduce my speed and maintain a plane by about 500 rpm less when compared to not having the vipers. This is due to the trim tab like design aspect. But, the biggest improvement for me was the off idle tracking ability. Holding at 3k and 4K rpm, I had excellent tracking and I didn't have to constantly course correct. Another benefit that I noticed is when coming off plane in an emergency stop situation where you quickly pull the throttles back to neutral, I actually had some steering control. That's something I don't think that I ever had before. So, overall, I am pretty excited about my new mod and the only downside is that it is mid October and time to put her away for the winter. Meh. But I look forward to next season with my new Viper setup!
