  • I don't know how you figured out how to do this .But what a difference it made on my gsx.I enjoyed this ski accept for the loss of control at high speed . If I turned fast it would loose its bite and spin out . Not any more, I can do turns at full throttle , and I noticed it is a lot easier to turn the steering at full power.I went and purchased a tube and now we are enjoying this even more. This is the best mod I ever tried.I will definitely tell all my friends about this, I still dont know how you get it to do what it does, It dosent even go below the ride plate.Well im impressed beyond words , its like having a different jet ski, thanks for convincing me to try it.

  • This was the best thing I have ever done to my jet ski! I get out of the water faster, have more control and boy is it fun. I highly recommend this product. Ride Hard!

  • I have a pretty quick, modified XPL Seadoo. The design of the hull makes it unpredictable in chop. I have extended aftermarket sponsons and I tried your standard steering system along with the sponsons. I am an experienced operator, and I was quite carefull in the beginning. After a short time of familiarization with the steering added, I was impressed. If not amazed. Here are the results: It made the ski predictable and a whole lot more controllable. In my opinion it's a lot better than just the sponsons. It held the nose down just a bit and required me to adjust my quick trim to compensate. It definitely holds the hull steady and I was doing things in heavy chop, that I would never have attempted before. You may want to rethink your advice about not using this with extended sponsons. I found it to make the sponsons easier to control and very predictable. I am definitely impressed.

  • As new jet skiers, we were thinking that the ski would be very unstable and sort of like "riding a rocket." When we first launched our jetski with the steering installed, we were amazed at how stable and easy to maneuver the boat was. Even with both of us on it steering was precise and accurate. With one rider it's even more fun. Thanks, Jeff!

  • I am the individual who allowed my 2004 sea doo to be photographed and displayed on this web site. I consider myself to be a serious jet skier and have been for nine years. After purchasing my newest jet ski I found that I was not happy with the O P A S steering that came with it from sea doo, so I removed it like many other people have. I was content with my jet ski without the OPAS, and IÂ’m sure I would still be riding it that way if I had not met Jeff at the Tierra Verde causeway. Admittedly I was extremely skeptical when Jeff first told me about his new steering system. I doubted those fins could do anything to help a 900 pound jet ski steer. I never bothered to try out his jet ski because I just didn't think it would give me an accurate comparison. My ski was a lot heavier and faster than his. I told him that speed was my main concern, I use a G P S to monitor my speed constantly. Jeff assured me that if I didn't like his steering for any reason he would give me a full refund. I gave it some thought and realized I had nothing to loose. I agreed to try it out but reminded him I doubted it would be of any value to my ski. When I tried out his steering it impressed me, I remember saying it was worth every penny I paid for it and I did brag to all my friends. As it stood I loved the steering and doubted it could work any better than it did. You can imagine my surprise when Jeff contacted me with a proposition. He said he had made some small adjustments to the steering and wanted me to do a test on my jet ski for free. If I liked the results I could keep them, if not we just put the others back on. Jeff met me at the usual place in Tierra Verde, and handed me the latest fins. As I was looking at them I really didn't see a whole lot of difference accept the outer fins were about an inch longer toward the front, the fins were no deeper and didn't even go back as far as the ones I already had. I must have looked a bit confused because Jeff started explaining the angles were different and the outer fins would catch the water sooner when it came off the ride plate, etc. I told him I would put them on later in the day and be back on Sunday to try them out. The next day, Easter Sunday no less, I went to Tierra Verde and waited for Jeff to arrive. I thought he would want pictures or something but all he wanted to do was have me go out and test the fins. I took my jet ski out and put the fins to the test while Jeff waited on the beach, when I pulled back to shore I don't know who was smiling more him or me. He said I don't even need to ask you how you like them I saw how you were riding that jet ski like a kid with a new toy. I checked my GPS and my top speed was right on the money. I'm not sure how to explain it in words because words wont do it justice. I made 90 and 180 degree turns at speeds over 60mph while sitting down just by turning the handlebars it amazed me. I tried to get this 900 pound jet ski to break loose it wouldn't. I ran at over 60 m p h and let go of the throttle. It hooked up and turned in about one second. When I told Jeff it took a second to turn in off power he said well its still a half inch above the ride plate, if I extend the center fin to be even with the bottom of the plate I believe it will hook up instantly. I look at it this way, he made a 185hp 900pound jet ski steer with more precision than any jet ski I have ever driven. IÂ’m leaving it alone, it's just that good. I will not take this jet ski out and ride it without the steering, IÂ’m spoiled now. For those of you who live in the Tampa bay area, I suggest you e mail Jeff and find out when he plans to be out in Tierra Verde with his jet skies, and check this out yourself, its too good to miss out on. Take it from someone who knows.

  • I spent 7 hours on the lake today fishing. The Viper is the single best piece of equipment I've purchased for this boat. I highly recommend it. Spent a lot of the time at idle fishing and can say for a fact the Yamaha sit and spin is gone. Slow speed handling is greatly improved. No more over steering and she tracks straight. Hops up on plane fast. Was able to get 43mph wide open with a full tank of gas with 2 adults on board. Can't honestly say the Viper is the reason for the speed, but I'm happy so that's all that matters.

  • Finally got to test out the CJS Viper steering system I purchased. I can’t believe the difference it makes in the handling of my Yamaha 190 FSH especially at idle speeds, maneuvering is now a breeze. It handles like any other prop boat that I have owned or operated over the past 60 years. On small lakes as a kid, inland waterways and the Atlantic in FL, and now on Lake of the Ozarks in MO. Thank you again it was money well spent!!

  • Jeff, I installed the cobra jet system last week and just took my boat out yesterday, it was great! Thank you for making a quality product and it has made maneuvering my boat much easier. Sincerely, Tony

  • Installed the Ultimate Cobra Jet Steering on my Yamaha AR192. It made a world of difference and is much easier to steer straight. Watch the YouTube video for an easy install

  • I have the CJS venom viper kit and I can assure you the kit performs exceptionally well. The attitude of the boat is completely changed on plane. It cuts through the water rather than on top. No more porpoising or teeth rattling chop. In fact it feels like a significantly larger boat in rough water at speed. I have no doubt as I increase the performance of the boat and top speed goes up, the smooth ride will be extremely beneficial. The difference in low speed/off plane turning is simply unreal. There truly is no comparison to a stock unit. Reverse is now a useable feature instead of wishful thinking. As satisfied as I am with the unit, my family is even more so. They used to be very annoyed with the performance, especially at no wake speeds and WOT. Now, they are trying to figure out what I did, other than spend a very small amount of money on the boat, to radically improve their boating experience.
